Lithic Basins (concave-carved structures)

Volcanic rock structures with concave-carved cavities. They functioned as ritual or domestic containers. Registered in ICANH Resolution 1457 of 2023 as a slab lot.

Archaeological context

The basins or concave structures are lithic containers of the ancestral culture of the Upper Magdalena. At the Vegonia site, three of these structures are found under a shelter, with a view of the Granates River valley and the Central Cordillera. They represent one of the most distinctive sets on the trail.
